First Day at Disneyland

Pin It Now! We decided to drive down to Disneyville on Thursday night. After 2 weeks of my packing and planning (the joy of packing for three little ones) we headed down the scenic Interstate 5. We arrived at a hotel in Valencia at midnight and went to sleep... after Jordis fussed and cried for 2 hours for no reason. So we all finally got to bed around 2am. Then Jordis (the easy one of the group) woke up at 6am. Fortunately I fed her and she went back to sleep and we all slept until 8am. Then we headed over to the Moore house where a gourmet breakfast awaited us.

The kids played. The adults chatted it up. Fun was had by all.

Then it was off to enjoy 2 hours of L.A. traffic.

We arrived at the much anticipated Grand California hotel to our room with "theme park views."

Since we were going big time on this trip we decided to pay extra to overlook California Adventure. The pictures on the internet made it look worth it. Shiloh was the first to arrive to the room and found our stunning, million dollar view of the park. It just looked more like a state park than a theme park...
After some visits to other rooms and discussion with guest services everyone decided that we had gotten the bait and switch. Even the guest services gal was sketched on our "theme park view."
She said, "Um, yeah. When they built the park they didn't realize the trees would grow in like that and block everything."
But they have no problem to continue billing it (literally) as a "theme park view." We decided to just stay in the room and they credited us back most of the upgrade money and then gave us vouchers for a meal at one of the hotel restaurants (worth about $400,ooo).

After we got the room hoopla squared away we headed for the most expensive place on earth. Elijah got to fight Darth Vader,

Jordis began her 5 day stay in prison also known as a stroller.

and the treats started flowing.

The next morning we received an awesome guilt offering that the kids quite enjoyed.
Two bunches of balloons, two "autograph books" with a bunch of character signatures (not that my kids even know what an autograph is) and a stuffed bear for Jordis.
