My friend Kerry, has a birthday party rule: The kids get to invite one friend for every year old they are. For Jordis it was a party of one. Or not. The Hagens ignored that rule once again. This was our biggest bash for a first birthday, but it may be the last one (if we don't adopt) so I figured we'd go HUGE. Actually, we just had my parents, bro and his fam and four other families come over. There were no princesses or ponies or clowns or jumpy houses. Not that we've ever had those things yet... I digress. Shiloh did roll out the ping pong table (that got warped from sitting out in the summer sun for a few hours). The moms came out of their 10-year retirement and played a little ping pong. That had to be entertaining.
And here are some more party pics.

it looks like the perfect time to ignore the rule. and i'm honored to be mentioned on your blog in such a type A, non-fun mom way. :) and by the way, that's not my rule. pretty sure it came from family fun magazine. you know, because they know best of course :)
oh and, you should TOTALLY adopt. it's amazing and life changing. and because of that - we will throw a way huge 1st bday party for our ethiopian cutie. its just seems fitting.
