Terrible Threes

Pin It Now!
To sum up the life of my three year old daughter right now...
After splashing furiously in the bath causing water to go everywhere (except in the tub) she tells me this:
"You know why I was splashing so much?"
"No, why?"
"Because I wanted to. So I did."
'Nuff said. Please pray for me. Seriously. Does anyone know any decent boarding schools... for preschoolers?

I have to say, the first half of three was harder than the second half. So maybe it will get better...on the other hand, I've heard it goes the other way around in which case- good luck with that. Either way, I'm praying for ya.

Welcome to the strong willed child's world. I've had one of those and she's 17 now and just getting out of it. Boy am I glad. You get to practice real love.

Lily has said that same thing, almost word for word, to me. Empathy I can give...answers, nope. Her more recent one was, "But I want to so you have to let me." ...Realy?Realy? I think we should get Lydia & Lily together more often and see what happens. :)

I have always thought that three was much worse than two so don't know why they call it terrible two's instead of three's. At three they are so much smarter and can tell you so much more about what they are thinking and do so much more. Parents have this false sense of if I get through the terrible 2's I am home free. Wrong. 4 is better though. :)

What a fantastic summary of what all of us with 3 year olds get to look forward to ... "I did it because I wanted to". Although wouldn't it be nice some days to do what we wanted to also?!

Yes, Wendy, my little one is in fact very strong willed. It is tough, but just think positive. Strong Child= Strong Adult. :)
