The Clump Tree

Pin It Now!
My favorite activity of the Christmas season is watching the kids decorate the tree. They love it. Lydia would hang an ornament and say, "Mommy, is there anymore? Is there anymore?" She must have said that twenty times.

I absolutely love how they clump all the ornaments together in one area no matter how many times you tell them to spread them out. And I don't even "fix" them after it's all done. You come to my house, you see the clump tree. In fact, I think I just coined a new tree movement. Forget the "Charlie Brown Tree," we advocate "The Clump Tree." Please raise your hand if you would like to be a part of this movement or are already clumping along.

I love the picture of Elijah putting the top on the tree up on Shiloh's shoulders. I think our last picture of that with Jordan and Bill was when Jordan was about 10 or 11. A sad tradition to lose. :(

I used to be a Christmas Tree perfectionist before we had kids. Luke hated the way I was so OCD about it. It is really the only thing I have ever been OCD about. Go figure. In the early days I would "fix" the tree after the kids went to bed. And now, now you should see our tree. It has clumps. It also has one strand of garland strewn haphazardly wherever the kids could reach. And I have no desire to "fix" it. I have come a LONG way =)
