Remembering Faith

Pin It Now!
Today our firstborn daughter, Faith, would have been 8 years old. Some of you know the story. Some of you walked with us through her story and blessed us greatly. Some of you know nothing of her story.

The short version of the story is that when I was 5 months pregnant with her we found out that she had Trisomy 13, which is fatal in most cases. She had three major midline defects. We didn't know if she would make it to birth. She did. We held her for four days and then she bailed on us to go hang out in heaven. I know a lot of you have babies who are in heaven with her. Whether miscarried at 7 weeks or stillborn or 49 days old . . . I think they are all eating birthday cake with Faith right now.

Not sure what we will do today, but we might just make a birthday cake. Happy Birthday to Faith. And thanks to God for giving us short, but sweet time with her on earth.

You can read more about Faith's story here. And one of these days I will do more updates to that blog.

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. Acts 17:26

she is so beautiful! i know how hard and bittersweet these birthdays are. my twin daughters would be 2 years old now, and i think of them so much...especially at this time of year.

one of my friend's first daughter had trisomy 13- her name was kambry. i know kambry and faith are probably buddies up in heaven and that makes me smile (through the tears sometimes).

love your blog! happy birthday, faith!!!

Praying for you today. My sweet twins bailed on me too. Who can blame them? :) It still hurts, but I'm glad they are waiting to see us in a safe, peaceful place.

Praying for you and your family. I can't imagine the pain of the loss of your precious, Faith, but the best thing is that you'll get to see her again one day!

I was reading her story this evening. How beautiful! God is good!

God bless you and your sweet family. I can't even imagine the party she is having in heaven today! Our daughter was diagnosed with the same thing, but was misdiagnosed. I think that is how I found your blog, when I was searching for info.

thanks everyone for you thoughts and prayers. We had a good family day. Made cookies, a glitter craft (that we will remember for the rest of our lives because the glitter will be there throughout the house to remind us), and ate take out from PF Changs.
