Eazy E and Me

Pin It Now!
If you are new to my blog, on Wednesdays I post about my experience in Hollywood as a former child/teen actress. If you want to start at the beginning of these posts go here.
------
How many of your remember Eazy-E or the rap group NWA?
There is nothing ironic about the Lassie girl and Eazy-E posing for pictures together at an Athletes and Entertainer for Kids Event in Oakland.

I actually attended several AEFK events with Eazy. Despite the fact that he was a gang member (Crips) and a drug dealer, he was always very nice to me and the AEFK kids. As I recall, or perhaps am making it up (my brain is so compromised these days), there was security around the coliseum to watch out for rival gang activity.
Eazy-E died of AIDS in 1995 at 31 years old.

I had no idea Eazy died of AIDS, but I suppose it doesn't surprise me.

kristin,
Weird, huh? When AIDS was newer on the scene.
amy,
I think Scott and Eazy were best friends :)

Cool! You had so many neat experiences! I loved NWA, E, Dre and Ice Cube!! Not the best role models for a little girl growing up but it was raw...what a difference the Lord has made... Now all I listen to is gospel and contemporary Christian! Lol.

HA! Eazy E, huh? Never wouldn've pegged you two as friends.

RIP, Eazy.

I laughed out loud seeing you with EZ. Awesome.

did you go with the red, white and blue shirt on purpose? to ensure equal gang representation so as not to make Easy upset? i imagine it could have gotten all ugly up in the coliseum had you not.

Annett,
Those were the big dogs back then.
Heather,
Quite an unusual pair to be posing for photos together.
Lelan,
Laughs are good.
Jessica,
Yes I think that was my gangsta choice.

This is definitely an iconic shot. It reminds me of my high school days, hanging out with a bunch of downtrodden upper class kids blasting "Straight Outta Compton" from their car speakers like it was the coolest thing since The Beatles. Good post.
