Jordis, my youngest, turned four on July 25th. We had a rager at my parents house, which is our vacation home. About 25 kids and 25 adults. Jordis wanted a "Hot Tub and Face Painting" party so that's what we did. We barricaded off the pool and only allowed the 50 peeps in the hot tub. Not really. We let them roam around like a bunch of wild animals.
My second cousin Johnny was the face painter. I told him he should make this his side job to pay for law school. The girls were smitten with him and his mad face-painting skills.
I made cupcakes and in typical Wendy fashion almost made them look really ugly when I frosted them. But my mother-in-law saved the day. I tried to go all Pinteresty and labeled my cupcakes and their toxic ingredients using a dusty, plastic frame I found stashed away in my mom's office. It had a picture in it from when I was in high school so I figured
We had snacks with no labels.
Hot tubbin'.
Playin' ball.
Elijah found a frog in the pool. Highlight of his life.
Jordis opened one gift early and it was a hit. A box of princess stuff. They had a fashion show.
I introduced the girls with a horn sound and a British accent (because I recently finished watching Dowton Abby and am in love) and they paraded around in their get-ups. It was hilarious. The crowd clapped.
The birthday girl beamed with fashion pride.
Secret club friend and neighbor was too big for the dresses so she just modeled what she came in, which I think was her nightgown. I love her.
Shiner looked on and wondered what kind of family she had gotten herself into.
I needed an entourage to bring out the plates of cupcakes.
I went with the cream cheese frosting and no one hated me for it.
Smile for the camera. Or don't.
Grams and Grandpa Dan came up from San Diego for the occasion.
Jordis partied hard enough to fall asleep on the way home. Success. Happy 4th birthday to Jordis! Another pin-worthy bday party under my belt :)

Just precious! :) What should I title the pinboard?
What a great party! Looks like a ton of fun.. what a "vacation home". :)
I'm so jealous, I wish I had a hot tub to relax in after a hard day's work.
Looks like a fun party! Johnny should totally do face painting as a side business! He did a great job.
Me and jordis have the same birthday.. Only 21 years apart! ;)
I would love to spend my evenings soaking in a hot tub!
Happy, happy birthday Jordis!!
