In the last few weeks...

Pin It Now! In the past few weeks we...

went to a birthday party

had playdates

made chocolate chip ice cream

went to swim lessons

met our friends at Trader Joe's

played ring around the Rosie in front of Trader's

walked from Trader's to the Farmer's Market.

got lots of fruit at the Market

went to Elijah's first basketball class

went to Lydia's first ballet class

and the kids tried new foods.

Lydia ate part of a fly... after the kids broke it into pieces. Here are the leftovers.

Elijah ate chocolate chip ice cream with a pickle on top like Scooby Doo.

All the while we learned of one of our friend is embarking on an unwanted nasty divorce. One of my best friend's from growing up - her Dad recently learned he has aggressive prostrate cancer and is already pretty much bedridden. Additionally, her husband just lost his job. And then her son had a bad reaction to his kindergarten vaccines. We learned that some of our other friends both lost their jobs within days of each other. Fortunately, she was rehired last week. They have a one year old. And it goes on ...

Life is good and hard and sweet and funny and tragic and hilarious and painful and peaceful and dynamic.

These are some of my favorite verse in the Bible. I love verse 26 because it reminds me that God is in control. Somehow in the midst of all the crud, the triumph, the hardship, the joy, the love and the sorrow... God is in control. He has a plan and it is better than mine.

Acts 17:24-28
24"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 28'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'

P.S. I didn't mean to get all heavy on you. I was planning to just put up all the fun pictures and activities. But I feel like God wanted me to go there. So there I went.
