Do You Go Out of the House Looking Like That?

Pin It Now! My most popular blog post is probably when I post all the worst Hagen family photos. The real life stuff. I usually present it with my e-Christmas card as a little gift. This year I thought I would give you a little early "ugly photos" present.

First let me give you some contrast. Shiloh's dad took this headshot of me a few months ago. It is amazing what lighting, makeup and photoshop can do. What a team.

Lydia snapped these shots of me while we waited for my dermatologist appointment. Clearly, I was not there for botox. And my hair forgot what decade it was living in. (I was trying to protect my confused hair from the judgement of the world, but my daughters stole my baseball hat.) If only you could see my outfit in these pics. But just trust that my baggy "Save Darfur" t-shirt, baggy sweats, and Ugg boots solidified my um . . . look. And yes, I did run other errands looking this sexy.

Go ahead and leave your comments . . .
"Wow you really make me feel better about myself (because you're lookin' so ugly)."

I can take it. I am the Totally Desperate Mom. And I enjoy boosting the self-esteem of others. Mine is found in Jesus, so whatever.

----
P.S. If you are looking for my serious side . . . you'll find it over at (in)courage today. I did a guest post called "Are You There God? It's Me, Wendy."

I wouldn't dare say anything like that. I go out like that (and to work) every day.

Occasionally I will come across a picture where I look nice and think, Man I could really look good if I put in the effort. Then I only do it about .001% of the time.

Pure hilarity. And awesomeness. All wrapped up in one neat little blog post. :) Wendy, if you could bottle your sense of humor and sell it, you would be a bazillionare. Or if you put it in book form-- WAIT a minute...

Cara, cracking me up.
Katy, I am glad you are getting fashion tips here. Way better than what's out there in the magazines, no?
Andra, You are so right! I did have good nails freshly manicured on my So Cal trip. I missed that.
Tegan, If only my last name was Lucado or Warren or Bible. Then I could really make some money on a book.
Kathleen, you are a sweet liar.
Erika, I was at Trader's yesterday too. Wish we could have ran into each other.

You are awesome to post those pictures of yourself. I wish I had as high of self esteem. Sadly I am vain and would rather scroll through 87,000 pictures to find one where I don't look like a hag. Keeping it real...Ok, not really.

Susie, Are you saying I look like a hag? I am so offended. But in an unoffended way.

This is one of my favorite blogs- because I am laughing out loud.... Thanks for the joy- and by the way, I've got WAY more ugly pics than that! But I will say, that not even great lighting and makeup can make a person look beautiful that isn't beautiful already :).

Rachel,
Let me know when you post those ugly pics. And glad you got some out loud laughing action.

Still lurking at your blog here and love it!

I go out looking pretty shabby, but I can't bring myself to go out wearing sweat pants. Even while looking like a hag I still have to wear a pair of jeans.

You on the other hand can pull off some pretty sweet stylin' outfits!
Blessings!
