Stylin' Saturday - Hoops and Heels

Pin It Now!
So you know how I just posted about how we went to a taping of The Doctors?
Here is a preview of the show and I'm on it. They show a close up of me laughing. Cuz you know the episode was about communicating in the bedroom . . . show will air on Tuesday, November 16th if you need some tips. Now for our regularly scheduled programming . . .

Fashion tip for today:
When playing basketball always wear your sister's dress shoes, especially if they have heels. And for sure wear mis-matched PJs when getting that rebound. Jerseys are so overrated.
Don't be surprised if you catch Lebron James and Kobe Bryant sporting this look in their next few games. They can't get enough of this blog.

hi! my husband works on the doctors...but i found your blog last week ago from a link on another blog- bringing up burns, maybe? anyway- i started reading your blog (loved it) and THEN realized that one of my very best friends had just met you the week or two before when you spoke at her MOPS group (in valencia/santa clarita). she really enjoyed your talk and was saying "i'm going to get her book"- specifically because of your journey with your daughter Faith...and as babyloss mamas, we are always seeking out people who have been through similar loss experiences.

so-i guess what i'm saying is that it's a small world, isn't it?

i am loving your blog- you have such a great sense of humor!

No way Erika! That is great - all these connections. What does your hubby do on The Doctors. I am assuming that he and shannon know each other.

he is an editor, so she may or may not know him (he works in post). he edits dancing with the stars, and then fills in on the doctors on wednesday and thursday (when dwts is dark)...his contact is beverly (i think she is the post supervisor at the doctors)- i know her, too, from when i was an assistant editor in reality tv (the bachelor, bachelorette, etc.)

it is such a small world, isn't it?

my friend devon was very moved by your mops talk- so much so that she told me all about it the next time i saw her. she had twin boys who lived for 2 and 3 days (they were 23 week preemies). I had identical twin girls who were stillborn due to twin to twin transfusion syndrome. one of my other good friends, kimber- her first daughter had trisomy 13. her name was kambry, and she lived for 5 hours. she was born 2 years to the day before my twins were (july 12th). isn't that such an amazing god-incidence?

kimber's decision to carry to term and her faith through kambry's life and death set an amazing example for me, and it really affected how i walked with my grief after our twins went to Heaven...

I am so sorry that your precious baby Faith passed away- it is heartbreaking and tragic. Sometimes the only thing that can get a person through something so difficult is a sense of humor and faith- and I see that you have a great supply of both! ((((((hugs))))) It's been two years and four months since I said goodbye (for now) to my girls, and I still think about them every day...but I'm also able to smile and laugh now, which is an amazing gift.
