Youth in Film Awards - Winner?

Pin It Now!
If you are new to my blog, on Wednesdays I post about my experience in Hollywood as a former child/teen actress. If you want to start at the beginning of these posts go here.
------
After the first season of The New Lassie, I was nominated for a Youth in Film Award for best actress in an off prime-time series, or something like that. I won. Sounds pretty big time. Totally wasn't. I am pretty sure that if your producer nominated you or paid someone off you were nominated. And I have no idea who voted or how. Totally shady operation. I would love for some of my actor friends to chime in on this. Christina? Carol-Ann? Am I wrong?

But I was stoked to win and it was a fun evening with my fellow young actors.

(With Christina Nigra, Robert Jayne, and Brian Austin Green)

(Far left is Lassie's trainer, Bob Weatherwax. His dad trained the original Lassie and his suit should have won an award. Far right is Jon Provost, who played Timmy in the old Lassie series. he played our uncle on the show.)

(Will and I were also presenters.)

(With Christina Nigra and Holly Fields)

Remember "The Boys" and their song Crazy?
You've got me going
Crazy, crazy, crazy
You've got me going
Crazy, crazy, baby

I can't believe it. My crush has his arm around you. Well, I guess it is officially over between Brian Austin Green and I.

It might not be a big deal to you...who lived through it, but it is impressive to those of us who haven't lived it. We can say we know someone who was and is pretty special.

Wow, I am brought right back to the big scrunchie on top of the head look... You can downplay it, but I think it's pretty cool that you won!

I've been writing a Wikipedia article about the Youth In Film Award (now known as the Young Artist Award), and just found your page while I was researching the history. From what I've found, the award has been around for over 32 years and it's actually one of the most prestigious awards Hollywood bestows on child actors. Some of the notable stars who were nominated and/or won the Youth In Film Award as child actors were River Phoenix, Drew Barrymore, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johanson, and Leonardo DiCaprio, just to name a few, so I think you're in good company. I know I'm late replying here, but I'm actually posting here to ask - Do you still have your Youth In Film Award? I'm asking because the design of the Youth In Film Award/Young Artist Award statuette has changed over the years, and I've been looking for a photograph to use on the Wikipedia page to show the history of what the original Youth In Film Award statuette looked like. Free-license photos of the current Young Artist Award statuette are relatively easy to find, but free-license photos of the original Youth In Film Award statuette that you received have been impossible to find. I know it's a long-shot, but I just thought I'd ask if you still had your award that you could take a "close-up" photograph of on a white or solid background that could be used on the Wikipedia page?
Thanks,
Jake

Jake,
I don't know what happened to the trophy. And I don't have your contact info to get back to you. But I could email some of my old Hollywood friends who may still have their trophies.
