Second Annual Dirty Minivan Contest

Pin It Now! Picture Me Imperfectly.
Link up at Capturing Motherhood!
Thought it was a good fit for the DMV competition.

I can smell it in the air. Some call it spring, but we all know what season it really is. It's DMV time. Time for my second annual Dirty Minivan Contest. You can check out last's years competition to get an idea of how we roll. Any dirty car will do. It doesn't actually have to be a minivan.

I will start the competition off by showing you my lovely ride. It's a Toyota Sienna and it rules. I actually don't think it's all that bad in its current state. I can do much worse. But my girlfriend reminded me it was time for a DMV rematch and so I had to just document this baby "as is." It's DMV integrity. So here you go . . . be inspired.

Front seat, driver's side:
No big deal. Some CDs (that will never make the rotation), DVDs and sunglasses.

Front seat, passenger side:
A diaper bag topped with a naked Ariel doll, a couple of coupons (that I will never remember to take out of the car and use), some half-full water bottles, and Lydia's "night-night."

Front seat, driver's side floor:
Wipes, a princess cape, an empty bag (or is it?), a Jordis toy, and a lint brush (it's like one of those Roombas - it automatically rolls around and cleans the lint off the floor of my immaculate minivan).

Behind the drivers seat:
If you have read about my adventures in potty training, you would not blame me or judge me for keeping 3 bags of spare clothes for Lydia.

Next to Jordis' seat:
Two pairs of shoes, wipes, and a snack (apple fruit crushers).

Back of the car:
That faithful highchair/grocery cart cover to protect Jordis from all the uncleanliness that lives outside of my DMV. That red and white bag is yet another round of "emergency clothes" for all the kids. Then stroller and fabulous "B" bean craft from church that has been in my car for at least 3 weeks.

Thanks for looking at my crib. Now let me see yours.

Here are the rules:
1. HOW TO ENTER:
Please display the pics of your sweet vehicle on your own blog and link it here (via Mr. Linky - check in on Monday April 12th for that). If you do not have a blog please email me your photos and I will showcase your pride and joy for you.
Your entries are due by April 15th. There is no "I just cleaned out my car excuse" because certainly by April 15th you will have restocked it again.
2. VOTING:
I will do a post with Mr. Linky the week of April 12th. You all can link up to your posts about your hot wheels. People can start voting on April 16th.
3. PRIZES:
If reigning champ Mel (she tied with Christina) finds the rubber chicken it will passed along to this year's winner.
Additionally, my friend Michelle has offered up a $40 credit to her Scentsy store! You may remember Michelle's Roach Mobile from last years competition. It was so clean you could eat off the floors - as long as you like deadly spiders, roaches, and disco carpet flooring.
4. NON-U.S. RESIDENTS:
If you live outside of the United States I welcome your participation, but your are ineligible for the prizes because well . . . I don't want to pay the shipping costs.
5. SPREAD THE WORD:
Please link this post to your blog so we can get some serious competition going. This is no joke.

P.S. If anyone is all technical and graphic/designerish and they want to create a button for this competition . . . that would be cool. I would give you 40,000 points.

Wendy, your car looks "GOOD"! You are definitely in the running to win, but I am hoping to keep my title as reigning champ. You thought my Tahoe was dirty last year? It is WAY worse this year. I am almost too embarrassed to enter, but I will :)

P.S. The rubber chicken has been found & the chicken is alive & well!

It is even messier right now. Kevin won't even ride in it.

This whole thing is hilarious to me. I am pretty sure Dave and I are OCD clean-freak soul mates. His comment on last year's post about his children shuddering in fear after dropping a crumb of organic whole wheat bread on the floor had me crying I was laughing so hard.

So basically, you would pretty much laugh at me if I entered the Malibu in this contest. But I'm going to enjoy the entries and mutter, "How DO people live like that?" to myself as I do.

In fact, this makes me want to go vaccuum my car. Again.

This comment might make an OCDer just pass out and die. Good luck.

After reviewing last year's participants...I think I'm definitely going to be in the running. Though the "roach" mobile took it to a whole new level! I took the pictures today and will post them sometime soon. Good thing I took them b/c my hubby just spent 2 hrs cleaning out my van so we could drive his grandma up to an Easter picnic. My philosophy is "I have better things to do with my time". It only stays clean for like 2 minutes!

Barbie "I have better things to do with my time." Love it. You are destined for greatness - especially in this competition!

I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed that I could totally win this. We just moved and I didn't clean my car out before or after. I'd enter but I'd be afraid I'd end up with a rubber chicken floating around in my car for the next year :)

Oh my goodness! What an awesomely-fun contest... and by someone who's not only MET Leonardo di Caprio (or however you spell his name) but who acted alongside him in "Growing Pains"!

I just found out about this from Rachel at Busy Mommy Media. I'm hoping I can get some good pics of my "wheels" tomorrow so that I can get them posted on my WordPress blog, and maybe even on my homeschool blog. SOOOO excited!!! :)

I can't make any promises but if I can get photos of what Mr. Right does to my vehicle when it is in his possession I may just enter. It is seriously scary. Once, a SWAT team was called in because they thought there was one of America's Most Wanted hiding under the debris.

Ok, I made that part up. But it could happen. Really.
