Recipe for Baked Plastic

Pin It Now!
I found a blog called Aunt Peg's Recipe Box that has some really good recipes on it. This Fudge Lovers Cream Cheesey Cake may be my new favorite dessert.

I baked it up real nice in the oven. Twice. Once as per the recipe.
The second time I went for the pink, gooey version.
Oops.

Please do not try this at home. Do not store your precious leftovers in the oven, forget about them, and preheat your oven for pizza. Unless of course you like toxic fumes in your house and hammering plastic off your oven rack.

Oh no! Been there done that! At least you had the presence of mind to take pictures and blog about it. I would have just been mad. LOL! :)

I'm glad you're still alive to post about that.

One time I had a baby and someone brought me dinner in a plastic container and in my post-baby fog I put the whole thing in the oven to reheat it. It melted and stunk up the whole house. I didn't live to blog about it. But I did live to write her a thank you note telling her how delicious it was and please-oh-please could I have the recipe?!?!

What a mess. Maybe store leftovers in the hall closet next time.

Hannah,
It was sad. They were so good.
Annett,
Not only did I have the presence of mind... we had college group that night so there was a mob of people taking pictures of my project.
Angie,
Oh that is funny. If you saw how little counter space we had you would know why it was in the oven. We don't even have a hall closet. I would have to divert to linen closet. Next time for sure.

:)haha
You know whats sad? Is that I am such a chocoholic that the first thing I thought is how I would still try and eat them by picking off the melted plastic. I've got issues.

I have done that before. It is no fun to have to clean up.

This is TOTALLY something I would do. TOTALLY.

The hubs, one time, baked a fork into a casserole he made. It was pretty stinkin' funny. Came out clean!

OK, I'm sorry for the toxic fumes and even more sorry for the wasted brownies but that just gave me a giggle. Thanks. :)

Oh, good heavens.

That's never good...but it makes for a pretty funny (to others, of course) post.

I know it's shameful that my mind is even going here...but...were you able to salvage any of that delish looking chocolate?

Storing leftovers in the oven?? I have never thought of that!! Well, now since I saw this, I'm trying to erase that from my memory. Leftovers go in the fridge, leftovers go in the fridge.....

I still do that! I just never learn.
