Insta Narcissism

Pin It Now! What did I do this past week? So glad you asked. Wow, this blogging thing can be pretty narcissistic. And don't forget to celebrate my five-year blog birthday (more narcissism?) by trying to win yourself some junk. Deadline is tomorrow night and it is so easy to enter.

My week in cell phone pics.

We have a young adults life group (AKA Bible Study, small group, homegroup, growth group) at our house every week. They rage late into the night. For real. This was taken at 10:40pm, but I think the last ones left at 1:45am. Yes, the Hagens are tired on Fridays, but we love these peeps.

Sleepover at Grammy & Grandpa's house. Grandpa in his dove shorts and Jordis is clinging to her Target overnight bag.

Elijah was citizen of the week and for sharing . . . he picked me.

This little guy was caught praying at church.

Apparently my dad is a glasses hoarder. He must have seen the show and decided to purge. On us. I scored some sweet shades and so did the kids.

Off to church where Elijah got to sit in big church for the first time because it was a special service for the core of the church. All 1200 of us. And Elijah let one so rip that was so very loud. At first people pretended they didn't hear it. But then several laughed. On and off the rest of the service. You know when you get the giggles and you cannot stop it and you are shaking and crying and trying to be quiet because the timing is so inappropriate? Yep, that was me.

I put this note in his lunch the next day and apparently it was a big hit amongst his second grade peers. It got passed around the lunch table. According to Elijah, boys were fighting to see it. It was like Cabbage Patch Kids back in the day.

I am taking donations for the work that these bad boys need. Help.

Lydia brought home this Fancy Nancy book from the library. We read it and then went to dinner all fancied out just like in the book.

Jordis did herself up. Insisted on keeping her clip this way.

I interrupted these two gossiping.

I made these Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies (and of course do not use margarine as recipe calls for - butter always), which was a mistake. Because I wanted to marry them. And I'm already married and my bootie is at max capacity.

I love where we live cuz there is a lot of this.

I spoke at a MOPS group and they did things all fancy and crafty like this because Laura (who went to Blog Sugar) is their hospitality coordinator. She's probably on Pinterest pinning her little heart out.

One of our rescued squirrels was at it again. Planking his life away on our backyard fence. Probably thinking about how glad he is that he got rescued and relocated to our backyard because he always dreamed of being on Instagram.

Linking up with Jeannett's Insta-Friday. Cuz it's easy.

Hi Wendy! Thanks for the comment! This is hilarious, and your kids are adorable. I had to have braces for 6 horrific years (my poor parents) so I'm feeling for your son!

The church incident is cracking me up!! I remember getting the giggles in church on many occasions, and having the whole pew jiggle. Good times. :)
