Random Thoughts for the end of Summer

Pin It Now!
We've been having a fun summer. Elijah's best bud went back to Hawaii for the school year so we took him out to CPK for a last supper. I had the kids jump for this photo. And they did. Amazing, I know.
School starts next week. Jordis will be in preschool for the first time. Lydia will be in first grade. A full day. Elijah will be in third grade. Haven't had much time to blog. Working on talks for upcoming retreats. Talks about Simplicity. Simplicity in stuff and schedule. Constantly working at cutting things out of my life, saying no - simplifying. And read Jen Hatmaker's book Seven: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess. Loved it. Read it. I think I would really like her and not just because she does cheerleader jumps with her friends too.
I'd love to tell you more, but I don't have the time. Cuz I'm simplifying. Maybe later :)
But I will tell you this:
My goal for next week as we start off the school year so I can get a decent night's sleep and be a perky mom:
-No iced tea after 2pm.
-In bed by 10pm where I can pray and read, but no screen time.
-Exercise every other day.
Hold me to it.
Happy end of summer!

P.S. Shiner is doing well. We love her. And she has a best friend named Remmy who has a really long tongue.
