Stylin' Saturdays' Premiere

Pin It Now! You might be shocked to discover that I usually have my kids pick out their own clothes and dress themselves. They usually come up with something that looks ridiculous, I mean, is quite entertaining. Today was no exception for Lyds. My thought is, "Hey, it's one less thing I have to do." Usually. Until I go in their room to grab a baseball hat and find this.

Of course they can clean it up. It will just take 2 hours and will be shoved into the drawer. And if you saw my DMV, you know that I am not one for disorder or disorganized spaces.

There is a blog called Big Mama that gives weekly fashion tips and advice. She has inspired me to start my own fashion segment on my blog. I have a lot to offer and so do my kids. Shoot, even Dad excels in this category. I think it is going to be a regular Satruday post called  "Stylin' Saturdays." So if you look to your closet and can't figure out what to wear, you might want to check in here for some tips from your friendly fashion icons - us.

This is Lydia's choice for today. Notice that famous pink glove that resides in my DMV . The sweater she is wearing is actually the coolest sweater I have ever seen. My Aunt Leslie made it from sweaters that she bought from thrift stores. At least somebody in my family is crafty and creative.

Accessories are the latest trend right now. Especially bloomers. Especially under pajamas, over diapers. It's all the rage in Hollywood.

And whatever you do, DO NOT get matching pajama bottoms and tops if you plan on going out of the house. This is rule #1 for the fashion conscious family.

Unfortunately Elijah is hiding his gem of an outfit underneath his sweatshirt. Just trust me when I tell you that the layered look is HOT. Just know that underneath his checkers lies a homemade (at a birthday party) pink, blue and purple tie dyed shirt with Micky Mouse ears and "Elijah" spray painted on it. Underneath that is a black wife beater tank that is way too small. His beer gut was on display tonight at church when he unlayered his fashion forward self.

Halloween costumes never go out of style. That is why Elijah wore his Prince Caspian costume to MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) this week. Trend setters know that it is ridiculous to buy an outfit to wear only once.

We'll call this look "The Constant Gardener"

Footies, batman masks and oversized Hobbit shoes are the latest trend to come out of Europe.

Did I mention the bloomers are versatile? Whether contractor or a cowgirl, they are perfect for any occasion.

This post could go on forever with all of the style oozing out of this household, but I don't want to overwhelm you as you try and get a grasp on the current fashion trends. Check in next Saturday for inspiration. Pin It Now!
