Biggest Meltdown in History, Caught on Film

Pin It Now! I recently posted about the Jordis being at a . . . how do you say . . . challenging stage.
A few weeks ago she had a temper tantrum like I've never seen before. Well, I have seen a few, but they have been on shows like SuperNanny. Not in real life. Not in my house. Not in my dirty minivan.

We were at lunch with my mom. Jordis was happy as a clam, whatever that means. Then we headed home. "I DON'T WANT TO GO HOME!"
And that was it. Reason for the fit. I won't go into all the details of the 20-minute meltdown but there was kicking, screaming, spitting, running. I just watched and secured the perimiter. Tried to hold her. Tried to calm her down. Nothing worked.

So I decided to catch a bit of it on film in case I ever needed it to submit it to SuperNanny and
to show it to my husband because he called in the midst of it. And now I am sharing it with you so that you feel at ease if your sweetie-pie child appears to be auditioning for SuperNanny.

But I love her.

I've so been there. like half an hour ago been there. like I wanna wear dirty clothes and my cruel mother won't let me wear the grass stained muddy jeans I wore yesterday so I'm going to throw a fit that will make the neighbours think i'm dying kind of thing...and then I walked away and when he figured out I left he stopped crying.
yep.
been there.

Lol...Poor thing (both of you). Oh man have we been there. Such a hard stage... Do you happen to know when that stage ends? ;)

love your calm voice. so awesome.

my favorite photo genre is tantrum photos, i believe it is also my favorite video genre.

you are a good mama to capture this moment. :)

it may not be cute to you, but totally is to me.

Been there. Ours was started by wanting to put together a pig puzzle. We don't own a pig puzzle. 30 minutes of meltdown... screaming, crying, shoe flinging fun. I recorded it. What else could I do!

You know Wendy, my daughter is already getting her "feet wet" in this type of tantruming. Jordis is going to get thru it, so will you. P.S. I really think she is a beautiful little girl.

My girls are 13 n 17...and when nerves and "female" stuff gets the better of them I have seen this screaming, crying melt down too... God Bless and keep the camera nearby :)

Is it just me, or...did it seem as though every syllable of your voice just enraged her more?

I may or may not have seen this in one of my own children before.

Wendy, you never cease to make me feel better as a mother! LOL

This used to be an every day occurrence for Zeke. It was like he was possessed. So glad we are FINALLY phasing out of this. Now it's only once a week or so :)
