Rock Star, Wedding, Princess, Makeup Party

Pin It Now!

I imagine a lot of you have found this post from googling
"Rock Star, Wedding, Princess, Makeup Party for a five-year-old." Because who doesn't want to party like that?

I asked Lydia to come up with a theme for her fifth birthday party and that is what she came up with. Oh yeah, Kung Fu was a part of the original five-prong theme, but she decided to nix that a few days beforehand because she was concerned that her friends would not all have the proper attire. Thoughtful.

So here is how we rolled:

The party-goers. Identify the nose picker on the far left and I will give you a virtual high five.

This was the extent of the decorations - if you can call them that. And a few balloons.
We did invite Justin Bieber, but he didn't make it. But who needs the Biebs when you can get this creepy table cloth?

One of the girls from the college small group we host at our house volunteered to come over and do the girls hair and makeup. The girls were beyond stoked. Ariana pretty much made the party.

The partiers decorated the microphones that Lydia and I made, rocked out, got their hair done, ate cake, got their makeup done, got their princess on,

twirled, danced, opened presents, got serenaded by Ariana who sings like a princess, and then got their wedding gear on and danced some more.

Unfortunately, I have no ugly homemade cake or cupcakes to show you because I just had too much going on leading up to the party and so bought the cake at Baskin Robbins.

And this is me and my birthday girl. This was the dress she picked out for me to wear. Way easier than last year's pick.

The girls left with these partly homemade party favors. A small flower pot that Lydia and I dolled up with some ribbon using spray glue. (Oh man does that stuff smell. I bet all you crafters out there love that stuff. It glued my fingers together.)

Each pot contained a pair of sunglasses - for indoor use only cuz they are rock stars and a CD with all of Lydia's current favorite songs. So far I have only gotten two lawsuits from party parents for introducing their daughters to Bieber. Oh yeah, and I stole some bubbles from our Young Adults group last month and threw some bubbles in each pot. Back off, those young adults had the opportunity to use the bubbles at the end of the night and they chose not to. So I "cleaned up" after them.
The End.

Isn't that Kate (The Larson Lingo)? The only reason I figured it out is because I read both of your blogs! LOL

I can't believe you didn't invite more girls! It's not a party unless you invite way too many people and end up crying in a fetal position by the time it's over.

W, you are a better mom than me. My girls always come up with the six-pronged birthday party theme(s), and I make them narrow it down to ONE. :) I *love* the invite. And, of course, the multiple themes. ;)

this is the kinda party that is right up my alley.

i'm also guessing my invite just got lost in the mail?
