Why I'm Not On Pinterest

Pin It Now! I am not on Pinterest. Because I just don't want to be bombarded with pins, you know?

I have several items that I know would crash the server. Here are the top 10:

1. Our summer bucket list.
How did we create such magic? How are we able to discern what has been crossed off the list and how can we even read it with Jordis's finishing scribble touches?

2. Over-The-Top Reward Chart.
This would be a long step-by-step tutorial. This kind of magic doesn't just happen overnight people. Years of practice.

3. The Screw & Bolt Chandelier.
Who was the genius who put a screw and bolt on our chandelier to dress it up? Can't take credit for that one. It was my husband.

4. Stunning formal Dining Room Decor.
Should we just call this Pin City?

4. My recipe for Elmo Cake.

5. My decor for a Princess, Wedding, Rock Star, Makeup Fifth Birthday Party. No, I did not hire a party planner. I swear, this was all me.

6. My recipe for "Brownies with Melted Plastic."
To die for. Literally.

7. My recipe for a Chia Pet Mold Ball.

8. Custom Bedroom Curtains for Kids

9. What I Wore Wednesday, or something like that.

10. My decor for How to Throw a Party For Boys. Once again. All me. No help from an event planner.

Do you feel me? Don't want to die from OP. OverPinning.

Your kid's bedroom curtains are like mine! My boys have had this hunter type sheet hanging on their window since we moved here in 2003.

Mom fashions are so awesome, too! :) Most days are just nice to be grungy, wearing sweat pants and drinking lots of coffee. School starts tomorrow, so that'll be me in the morning. Sweat pants or maybe shorts and lots of coffee.

I have no idea what Pinterest is. I just joined google + on Friday, but I still am learning how that works.

Have a great week!
God bless!

I love your blog! I haven't joined Pinterest because it seems like the latest in internet competition sites, but if I did, I'd pin the heck out of your blog! (Can you pin blogs?)

Emily,
Hope you have a great first day of school and squeeze in a shower for yourself.
Kim,
Thanks. Pin me.
Barbie,
I don't know if you can pin blogs, but thanks for the thought.

My husband is watching TV so I just quietly laughed so hard that my eyes watered. The Elmo cake. Priceless. If all blogs were as true-life as yours the world would be a better, sometimes messier, often less than perfect, awesome place. LOVE.

So Kim, I guess what you are trying to say is that you totally get why I am not on Pinterest. People would be trying to copy my stuff left and right.

You are killing me!! LOVE it!

Love it! Are you available to plan my next birthday party? You can just re-use the Bieber stuff.

TDM Wendy said...

Jill, I know. I should be featured in Martha Stewart mag, right?
L. Shanna,
Because of the high demand for my specialized skillz I am not sure that you could afford me. But we can try and work it out.

Hahaha! You crack me up. I know where you're coming from, though--my kids' blackout shades look remarkably like cardboard boxes.

I laugh EVERY.TIME.I.READ.YOUR.BLOG. My husband looks at me funny each time and I have to say, "I'm reading a blog" and he always shakes his head.

Rebekah,
I would love to see pics so I can pin them.
Emily,
Funny looks from husband are as good as a pin.

I have to agree with the lady above. Your blog stands out so much, Wendy--your honesty about real life is SO refreshing!

I am resisting pinterest too--I have enough 'to-do' piles that go half unfinished that sit around my house. I don't need 85 pinned things on my computer (that I want to do but never get to) as well!

I will admit, I am a pinner, is that the correct term? BUT, I love how real and true you are. Thank you for being such a Godly woman, and someone to look up to. Not to mention hilarious! Love it!

Oh and something a little ironic. I have pinned your book, haha!

My absolute favorite thing on this post?

The "JORDIS" Elmo cake ... on an "ELIJAH" plate. HAAAA.

Ahhh, I love that I'm not the only "unpolished but *hopefully* totally awesome mom" out there! ;)

I'd pin you everyday! In fact, I may start pinning you.. I just joined. I have no idea how to do it, or what I should do. LOL. But, I do like looking at other pins. The cake was AWESOME!! I LOVE you Wendy! God smiles on you daily, giggles, and tells the angels to check you out too. :) He says, "That's my girl! she's honest, trying her best, and pleasing me."

TDM Wendy said...

Oh Shannon, I am so glad you caught that.
Annett, I bet the angels are saying "Bless her heart. In heaven we will do the crafts for her."

LOL! Oh, you slay me. I'm sitting here doing that silent, shoulder-bouncing laugh so I don't wake up the two kids next to me. You are so stinkin' funny.

The "what I wore" pic -- priceless!!! That is so me -- I see all these fabulously dressed ladies that link up, and think, yeah. Won't be jumping on THAT bandwagon. And I don't even have kids! LOL! Refreshing, hysterical post!

Thanks for the smile. Pinterest is where we put our BEST of the BEST, but I like real life the BEST. Can I find the Melted Plastic Brownies on Pinterest or just try to do it myself?

Jody said...

OMG - you saved me!! thank you. thank you for being real. too darn funny!!

I seriously love Pinterest, but I love this post just as much! I spent about a full minute on the chandelier picture before it dawned on me that you might be kidding. When I have those same kind of parties, though, a part of me THINKS it looks just like a Pinterest party. I hope that happens to my kids, too.
