January:
Elijah turned 5 and had a "Narnia" Party complete with an awesome, homemade, Aslan cake. Clearly, I did not whip up that masterpiece.
And we went on a trip to So Cal. Met up with our friends, The Ortiz's and went to Disneyland. Lydia got stage fright in front of the princesses.
February:
Shiloh surprised me for my birthday by flying in my friend, Missy, who now lives in Illinois and now goes by Melissa. But I don't acknowledge that because I feel it should be illegal to change your name (or what you go by) after you've had it for 18 years. In addition to surprising me with my identity conflicted friend, Shiloh had a surprise party for me. Sorry if you were not invited and should have been. Shiloh did the best he could.
And Missy and I called 911 and DJ PG&E showed up.
March:
The cousins visited and sat on our couch.
Lydia and Elijah got Kung Fu pajamas that my parents brought back from their trip to China. "High quality" silk pajamas that self destructed the moment they were put on.
April:
We Easter Egg hunted at my parents's house.
The hunt was so prosperous that we decided to movie in with my parents while we had our house on the market. I bet next year the Easter Bunny won't be so generous.
May:
Sold our house. Lydia Turned three and had her first dining experience at "Old McDonald's."
Elijah graduated from preschool Summa Cum Beta Laude Piper and we bought him a sports car for it.
June:
In celebration of selling our house we took a trip to Disneyland again. This time Lydia loved the princesses and asked them a bunch a questions about their lifestyles and their fellow prince and princesses.
Side note: at some point during the summer, I rented Space Jam from the library and Elijah's Michael Jordan fascination began. And his love for basketball escalated.
We moved into a new house and made a memorable late night family run to IKEA.
July:
Elijah and Lydia were in Kevin and Trisha's wedding and we went to Twain Harte for a vacation where I returned to water skiing after a ten-year hiatus.
I couldn't get up on a single ski and it took me about ten times to get up on two skis. Pride killer.
August:
We spent a few days up at Hume Lake with some friends.
Elijah started Kindergarten and wore a jersey to school every day.
September:
We vacationed in San Diego. Yes, we made 3 trips to So Cal! We didn't really plan it that way, but that is how it worked out.
October:
Halloween happened and we showed up.
And Elijah requested a head shave in order to be more NBAish. Done.
November:
We celebrated Thanksgiving with my family at my parents' house along with our Pinjuv cousins from Reno.
Shiloh and I went with some of our closest friends for an overnighter in Capitola for our friend's 30th birthday. We hang out with younger people.
December:
Lydia sung her heart out (and picked her nose) in her preschool Christmas music presentation.
Shiloh and I looked on with pride.
We remember baby Faith's birthday by having our family day.
After Christmas we visited my aunt and uncle in Arroyo Grande. Elijah was stoked about the dead (and huge) sand crab he found and was bewildered that I didn't want to bring it home with us.
P.S. At some point in the year, I dressed my girls in matching outfits. Kind of a noteworthy, big deal.

What a fun year! So glad to have your words to read and make me giggle hard :) AND I've always wondered where the Micheal Jordan obsession came from and now I know!
OK - the splits. You are FAR more powerful that I ever realized. I am not even worthy to comment here!
And then I read about your precious Faith. You are an incredible woman and I am honored to have you in my life.
